* There are a number of specialized software systems available today, which can gather data from digital CT Scan and provide virtual 3D models of the maxilla or the mandible and allow cut sections to be made of the surgical area and also very easily identify all the critical structures and landmarks in the surrounding area.

in conjunction with CNC machine can develop a real time model of the maxilla or
the mandible and devise a surgical stent which is placed on the jaw prior to
the surgery.
* This
stent will then guide the drill to enable an osteotomy or multiple
osteototomies of the precise location, angulations and depth.
* In fact this method allows prefabrication of
the entire prosthesis prior to implant placement. On the day of the surgery,
the surgical template assures accurate positioning and placement of the implant
with depth stops.
* As
soon as the implants are in place the pre-fabricated prosthesis can be attached
onto the implants. The surgical stent will assure depth control as it will
disallow any deeper movement of the hand piece.
